Blair Waldorf Vanity Table

Blair Waldorf Vanity Table from Gossip Girl

I'm a few years late, but I am officially obsessed with the show Gossip Girl. My favorite characters are Blair Waldorf and Chuck Bass. I think that they are perfect for each other.

I absolutely love Blair Waldorf. I found this picture of her vanity table which contains some of her makeup and skin care products. I decided to try and identify the products on her vanity table.

Products (left to right):

Dior 5 Colour Eyeshadow ($59)
Dior Diorskin Forever Flawless Perfection Wear Makeup ($46)
Dior Diorskin Airflash Spray Foundation ($62)
Dior Rouge Dior Lipstick ($32)
Tarina Tarantino Sparklicity Pure ($17)

The products that I believe to be in the photo may not be exact. I could not find any blog or article that mentioned the makeup or skin care the character Blair used on the show. I based the listed products above on what they looked like in the photo. If you have any suggestions to what each particular product is, let me know! I will try and update this every now and then with new products that I discover.

I hope this helps any Blair lovers out there.

MAC Haul

This may or may not expand! I'm not sure if I will buy anything from the new Posh Paradise collection. I will have to wait to see what the collection looks like in person.

I bought the fluidline gel liner, because I haven't had good luck with liquid or pencil liner on my top lid. After hearing about this gel eyeliner for the past 2-3 years (since watching YouTube), I have finally decided to try it out. So far, I am liking it!

Since my MAC counter did not have what I was looking for in the MAC Me Over collection, I decided to make a trip out to a pro store near me. I pass the pro store when I coming and going from school (which can be good and bad!).

I swatched Oh, Oh, Oh lipstick and the blush in stunner. Both of these products did not look good on me so I passed on them.

I have wanted to pick up the brush cleanser for awhile, but I never see it at my MAC counter, so I decided to pick it up while I was there. I haven't used it yet, so I don't know if it's as good as everyone says or if it runs out insanely quickly like other people say.

I haven't been following MAC collections very long so I'm not sure when this MSF came out, but I fell in love with it when I say it. Thankfully my pro store had one to buy. I wasn't expecting the $30 price tag though! I asked the lady that was helping me the cost and she guessed $23. Definitely wrong! I hope that I will like it and find it worth the cost. I haven't used mine yet, but the MUA did try it on me and it looked nice.

I have a favor for anyone reading this. I have made a polyvore image (below) with some products that I am considering buying. Please let me know if you have used any of the products pictured below and if you liked them. Thanks!!

Products pictured:
  • MAC fast response eye cream
  • MAC lip conditioner SPF 15
  • Urban Decay Dew Me
  • Urban Decay All Nighter
  • Urban Decay Deslick
  • Elf brushes (mainly eye brushes), lipsticks, && blushes ($1 or $3)
  • MAC brushes (217, 109, 242, 224, 213)

Thank you!! <3

my fall wish list of 2011

my fall wish list

Hello everyone!

I start school again Monday and I thought that I would share with you some of the things that are on my wish list this fall! This is also a new version of my back-to-school shopping list.

I absolutely LOVE knee high riding boots this season. I have wanted boots like this for a few years now and I have never found any that I really liked. I have a pair from Target, however they have a wedge on them. I want another pair that are more comfortable and more practical for going to school.

Anytime I see someone wearing a feather earring or feather extension, I want one too! I really like the one earring look because it is an alternative to the feather extensions. A lady that my mom knows makes custom feather earrings and she is going to make me one. :)

Circle scarves are so cute! I like normal scarves, but I have always wanted to try a circle scarf. They look so effortless which is perfect for a college student.

In the fall and winter, my hands are constantly dry and cracking. Not fun! I love the bath and body works travel lotions the best. My favorite scent of all time is the Eucalyptus spearmint.

I love the look of layered bracelets. I think fall is a perfect season for this, because summer is too hot for all that! I found a really cute bracelet at Express a few days ago. Check it out here!

Every year I want a new school bag! Without fail! I'm not sure if I am going to buy a new one, but I'm loving the ones that I found for this blog post.

Thanks for reading this. I hope you liked these things that I mentioned. Let me know what you want for this fall season!

my school shopping list of 2011

my school shopping list

Hi everybody!! I am finally done with school this summer. Now I have 2 weeks until I have to go back to school for the fall semester. I need to do some shopping before I go back to college. I actually don't need that much since I re-use most of the things (room accessories and school supplies).

1. Something to fill in my eyebrows. I'm thinking of going to MAC so that I can get the perfect color and the price is better than other high-end brands.

2. Cheek stains or cream blushes. I like the Tarte one because you get 1 oz for $30 compared to MAC cream blushes that are $19.50 for 0.19 oz.

3. Pink slip-on (no laces) converse. I love my black one with laces so I want another pair. I've seen ones similar to the ones pictured on one of my favorite tv shows - H2O Just Add Water.

4. New laptop && laptop case. The laptop I have is really heavy and slow. I want one that I can carry to class if I want to but won't break my shoulder!

5. Ripped jeans! I really like the look of boyfriend jeans and these AE ones are so cute!

6. Army looking messenger bag. I haven't found any school bag that I have really liked. I've got this idea from someone in my class but I didn't like hers.

7. I haven't smelled this perfume, but the bottle is so cute!!

8. Mini perfumes are amazing for school. Again, I haven't smelled these ones but I liked the fragrances from last summer.

Recent Purchases!!

RECENT PURCHASES!!

Oh my gosh! I have been obsessing over this multi-color storage cart since I starting watching tons of makeup storage/collection videos on YouTube. I have wanted this little baby all summer, however I haven't been able to find any that I liked that were in an affordable price range. Originally this storage cart cost $79.99 at Joann Fabrics, however there is a 40% off sale currently going on. This sale ends at midnight tonight, so if you want this cart for only $47.99 I would snatch it up! I also found a 50% coupon code (EEFB204) that reduced that price to $39.99. However, with tax and shipping prices, I payed $51.66. Not bad! I am SO EXCITED for this to arrive at my doorstep!! :)

In addition to this most recent purchase, I also bought a few items to try out.

Sally's Beauty Supply ($$ with beauty card):
Beyond the Zone Rock On Dry Shampoo $5.00  && Beyond Belief Deep Cleansing toweletts $4.79

Walmart:
European Gold Dark Tanning Lotion 25X Bronzing Lotion $8.00

Hello again!! As promised, I have another polyvore collage. I want to keep up with this idea as well -- daily routine! This will be my makeup & hair routine that I have been currently following for a few weeks.

  1. Olay active hydrating original beauty fluid ($6.99)
  2. MAC Oil Control Lotion ($29.50)
  3. Loreal Paris True Match Naturale Gentle Mineral Makeup with an SPF 19 in #458 light ivory ($12.99) and Loreal Paris True Match Naturale Soft-Focus Mineral Finish in #401 translucent (not shown -- $12.99)
  4. MAC Sheertone Shimmer Blush in plum foolery ($19.50) with MAC 129 powder/blush brush ($34.00).
  5. Too Faced Shadow Insurance ($18.00)
  6. Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liner in bunny hop (color discontinued -- $19.00)
  7. NYX single eyes shadow in taupe ($5.50)
  8. Urban Decay eyeshadow in sell out ($17.00)
  9. Revlon Eyelash Curler ($5.99)
  10. Maybelline mascara (left to right)
    1. The Colossal Volum' Express in glam black ($6.99)
    2. The Classic Volum' Express in very black ($6.99)
    3. The Falsies Volum' Express in blackest black ($6.99)
    4. One By One Volum' Express in blackest black ($7.99)
  11. Neutrogena naturals lip balm ($2.99)
  12. Tube lip gloss
    1. Victoria Secret Beauty Rush (color tags worn off -- $7.00)
    2. Max Factor in first kiss (discontinued? -- $2.95)
    3. Bath and Body Works Tutti Dolci in creme brulee (not shown -- discontinued)
  13. Lauren Conrad inspired front braid

Please note
The shadow brush shown in the image above is not the brush that I use. I could not find the actual brush that I use because it is from a cheap makeup kit that was given as a gift many many years ago. The brush that I chose for the image looks very similar to the one I use for both the main color and the highlight. I may actually go get that Sephora brush to replace mine since the ferrule is coming loose.

How in the world can you afford $223.36 worth of makeup?

I were to go out to the mall right now and by everything in that list, no I would not be able to afford that. Of course, this is stuff that I have bought over time. And on sale!! Four mascaras??? I bought them all two at a time (weeks/months apart) at a BOGO 50% sale which ULTA has all the time. $26 too much for a foundation and finishing powder? Same thing -- BOGO 50% sales. Some of the above items listed were also bought from whole sale websites and eBay. If you do decide to go that route, BE CAREFUL! Make sure that you research before buying anything just in case it is not authentic.

Recommendations (love it)
Foundation
NYX eye shadow
Maybelline mascaras (any of them)
VS Beauty Rush glosses

Skips (don't hate, but only ok)
MAC Oil Control Lotion (even for oily-skin girls)
Lip balm (try Blistex --- favorite)

Goodbye for now lovelies!!
Miss Heather :)

SIMPLE WAYS TO INCORPORATE HEALTHY CHOICES

I'm not sure how many people read my blog, but I am loving writing in it lately!! I thought since I can't go roller skating tonight that I would spend some quality time on my blog and watch some of the Harry Potter marathon that has been playing on ABC Family these past couple of days.

I have been meaning to go through my makeup collection and throw out anything that is really old, in bad shape, or something that I haven't used in a very long time. While I am going through my makeup tonight I will write a few reviews on the things that I own. Be on the lookout for those reviews coming very soon!
In addition to the makeup reviews, I am also going to give some health tips in this blog entry. My family has been eating healthier and working out. I thought that I would share some of the things that my family has changed in our daily routines.

Skinny Cow Ice Cream
Skinny Cow is a great way to enjoy sweets but still eat healthy. Someone in my family is a diabetic and he can eat these due to the lower amount of sugar compared to other brands. There are many different kinds of their ice cream, however the ice cream sandwhiches are my personal favorite.

Diet Mountain Dew
This drink has helped me stop drinking normal pop/soda. I think diet options are a great way to wein yourself off of pop if you can't go cold-turkey. The taste is still great and an added bonus is that it has 0 calories, 0 carbohydrates, and 0 sugars! No pop/soda is definitely better for your body, however this option is better than non-diet options. I haven't really researched other brands and flavors, however I'm sure that there are other options for those of you that do not like Mountain Dew.

Wyler's Light Sugar Free Lemonade
This is my favorite beverage in the summer time. This drink is perfect for replacing caffeinated beverages that you may drink daily.  This drink contains only 5 calories, 0 carbohydrates, and 0 sugars per serving. There are other flavors for this brand as well, however I have not tried them. You can also buy to-go versions to mix in your water bottles. Yummy!

Jello Sugar Free Pudding
These are a great snack to have in the house that is healthy for you! These come in a variety of flavors and have only 60 calories, 13 carbohydrates, and 0 sugars per serving. These tasty treats have 45% fewer calories than this brands normal pudding.

Weight Watchers String Cheese
While none of my immediate family is participated in weight watchers, this product is my personal favorite snack! This is the best string cheese for you (at least at my supermarket). These lovelies are only 50 calories, less than 1 carbohydrate, and 0 sugar. Unfortunately I am currently out of these. I love them!

Water
Of course I would add water to this list! Water is the best thing for your body and it is really important to drink the proper amount daily. Any kind of bottled water would work for you. :) Fiji water bottles are so cute but they are definitely too much money for simple water.

Now, I'm sure many of you readers have noticed that I either mentioned beverages or snacks only. Personally, I believe that it is very easy to eat unhealthy when you are snacking or drinking unhealthy products. As for meals, as long as you avoid excess portions or using WAY too much butter, you will have no problem eating healthy. Make sure to stear clear of any and all fast food restaurants!!
