June 2012 Empties

Hi everyone! Here is a list of my June empties. I've used up a lot more items than I used up last month. This time I just used pictures from the internet because I through out a few of these.

Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm - This is a product that I can finally cross off my Project Pan list! Although this lip balm smells good and everyond raves about it, I don't like it! It actually makes my lips more chapped than they were before putting it on my lips.

Lip Smacker's in Strawberry - This is a product that I got from my grandma when I losted my Blister's chapstick. This smells really good, however it wasn't my favorite chapstick.

L'oreal Eye Makeup Remover - I've been through multiple bottles of this. I like it, however I don't love it. If I use too much it will iritate my eyes. I also go through a bottle of this really fast. This will last me about 2.5 weeks. If I wear a natural eye makeup look, I use about 3 cotton balls worth. If I wear a dramatic, night-time eye makeup look, I use about 6 cotton balls worth.

Noxzema Clean Moisture Deep Cleansing Cream - I've also been through multiple bottles of this. This is a product that I would recommend. It lathers really nicely and I think it cleans my face of all dirt and makeup residue. I also love that this has a pump.

Olay Total Effects Daily Cleansing Treatments - I got these wipes for free with my Ulta level 2 reward. There are 30 towelettes in a package and this lasted me a little over a month. I didn't use these every night because I don't wear makeup everyday. I used these like a makeup wipe, however I ran it under warm water first. I thought these were nice, however I didn't notice any of the special effects that it claims. I would rather try something else than repurchase.

Covergirl Eye Enhancers Trio in Cafe Au Lait - I've owned this eye shadow trio for many years and I'm glad to see it finished. This was always an ok eye shadow trio. I didn't think it was very pigmented and the lasting power wasn't the best. It was also very shimmery, which I don't really like. I think that there are other trio's out there, however the color combination was nice.

Covergirl Invisible Concealer in Fair - I did not like this concealer. I think it was the wrong shade and it caked on me. I would not recommend this or repurchase this.

What products have you used up this month?

Venus & Olay Razor

Hi everyone!

I mentioned in a previous blog post that I recieved the Influester's Vox Box earlier this month. One of the items was the Venus & Olay Razor which will be featured in this blog post.

Pinned Image

The product:

The Venus website describes this razor as the best-of-both-worlds. (Do they like Hannah Montana?!) This razor has five blades and Olay moisture bars which smell amazing! I couldn't find the scent mentioned on the package.

Here are the product details listed on their website:
  • Venus’ five-bladed razors shave you close and adjust to women’s curves for a smooth and comfortable shave, even over tricky shaving areas like knees and ankles.
  • Olay Moisture Bars contain skin-enhancing elements found in Olay products: Petrolatum helps lock in skin’s moisture for less dryness and Glycerin helps offer that goddess glow! Just wet the razor to release a light lather – no separate shave cream required.
  • As with most Venus razors, new Venus & Olay also features a rounded, pivoting head designed for women’s curves, and a soft-grip ergonomic handle for confident control, even in wet and soapy environment
Here's a link to the Venus site if you want to check this razor out: http://www.gillettevenus.com/en_US/index.jsp

How much does it cost?

This razor retails for $8.99 to $10.99 which is pretty expensive for a girl who only ever buys disposable razors. To replace the cartridges, you can buy a pack of three for $14.99 to $19.49.

How to use it:

Rinse the head of the razor with water && enjoy!
NO SHAVING CREAM REQUIRED.

My opinions:
This is the best razor I have ever tried. This doesn't require shaving cream because of the moisture bars which makes this perfect for traveling. I have never shaved my legs so quickly as I have using this. My legs have never been so smooth. I will definitely be buying the replacement cartridges.

Where/when can you get this:

This razor will be available tomorrow (March 15) if you want to check it out in person. You can find them at food, drug, convenience and mass merchandise stores throughout the United States.

XOXO

Please note: I recieved this product complimentary to test through Influenster’s VoxBox program. My thoughts are completely my own and I speak the truth!

Influenster - Love VoxBox

Influenster is a program for people who are active with social media. Basically, you earn badges that reflect your personality, and if you qualify for "VoxBoxes" you will receive them free of charge in exchange for promoting the products on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, etc.

Here is what was included in the Love VoxBox (so named because they chose the pre-qualified recipients on Valentine's Day):

1. Ghirardelli Gourmet Milk Creamy Devotion Bar ($2.99) - I like chocolate like most girls, however I try not to eat it too often. It was yummy, however I would not repurchase this. It's not my favorite. It's just plain chocolate and you can just buy a hershey's bar for cheaper.

2. Stash Tea Herbal Sampler ($3.50)

3. Gillette Venus & Olay Razor ($8.99 - $10.99) - This is the best razor that I have ever tried. I have been using this for about a week and I'm loving it. This would be great for travel because you don't need shaving cream.

4. Kiss Nail Dress in "Cocktail" ($6.99) - This worked easier than I was expecting. The design is super cute and has stayed on my nails for over 5 days. Usually my nail polish will chip after 2-3 days. I'm definitely going to be buying some more of these.

5. Truvia Natural Sweetener ($3.99 for 40 count)

I have not used everything from this box yet, however my thoughts and opinions will be coming soon.

I received complimentary samples from Influenster. My opinions remain my own, no matter if it was free or not. I speak the truth!

XOXO

    3. Bath and Body Works Tutti Dolci in creme brulee (not shown -- discontinued)
  13. Lauren Conrad inspired front braid

Please note
The shadow brush shown in the image above is not the brush that I use. I could not find the actual brush that I use because it is from a cheap makeup kit that was given as a gift many many years ago. The brush that I chose for the image looks very similar to the one I use for both the main color and the highlight. I may actually go get that Sephora brush to replace mine since the ferrule is coming loose.

How in the world can you afford $223.36 worth of makeup?

I were to go out to the mall right now and by everything in that list, no I would not be able to afford that. Of course, this is stuff that I have bought over time. And on sale!! Four mascaras??? I bought them all two at a time (weeks/months apart) at a BOGO 50% sale which ULTA has all the time. $26 too much for a foundation and finishing powder? Same thing -- BOGO 50% sales. Some of the above items listed were also bought from whole sale websites and eBay. If you do decide to go that route, BE CAREFUL! Make sure that you research before buying anything just in case it is not authentic.

Recommendations (love it)
Foundation
NYX eye shadow
Maybelline mascaras (any of them)
VS Beauty Rush glosses

Skips (don't hate, but only ok)
MAC Oil Control Lotion (even for oily-skin girls)
Lip balm (try Blistex --- favorite)

Goodbye for now lovelies!!
Miss Heather :)
